New Mural – European Influence in Deep Ellum.

A project that is over a year in the works, due to timing and details. Initially an idea between myself and historian, Alan Govenar, and specifically designed with Pete Zoto’s restaurant in mind. This project was funded by the Deep Ellum Foundation, the project speaks specifically of the relationship and influence that European Immigrants from various diaspora who came to this area were known to have had.

In the mural, I have chosen to mention Model Tailors (Italian), Sons of Hermann Hall (German), Rudolph’s Meat Market (Czech), Honest Joe’s Pawn Shop and other Pawn Shops(Central Eastern European Jewish), Murray Cotton Gin, the Boyd Hotel (Italian), MW Barshop’s (Russian-German), as well as to showcase a requested business, C and J (Greek), a business owned by relatives of Pete’s hailing from San Angelo, Texas (his hometown).

This mural will take longer than normal to complete as it is quite long. I will post again later with updated images of the whole finished mural.
